For the last two weeks, I’ve been posting on a daily basis as part of Project 43. Project 43 is about experiencing new things as well as going to new places in and around my home of Houston.
It hasn’t been easy, but slowly Project 43 is becoming a part of my life. I find myself carrying my camera more and writing more. I find myself looking at things and finding serenpiditous bits that pop out of my little side adventures and in my day-to-day life.
A photowalk leads to me being re-connected with two people I attended a photography class with a couple months ago.

I take the leap and sign up to work with one of the trainers at work. When I go to the Chiropractor, he gives me the green light to see him twice a month so I’m back to breaking even between the two activities.
I went to the Midtown Market this morning and not only did I discover that one of the nearby buildings had reopened with four new businesses in it. I discovered a wonderful vintage shop and ran into an artist who makes exquisite hand made journals called “Gournals” that I had visited with a couple months ago at First Saturday Artist Market in the Heights.

And not only have I learned to make my own yogurt and spiced peaches, But I can now add Fig Preserves to the list of things I’ve tried to make that are new and different to me.

Paula, you are inspiring me this time…my own project 43 shall commence on September 24th. Here’s to 43!
Thanks Kelly. While I was weeding this evening I was thinking about the people that inspire me to be better people. They are the people who do things despite their age or circumstances. I want to be somenone who inspires other to take chances and take good risks. We only get one chance at this life and if we squander that, then its our own fault not anyone else’s.
So, which one of my fig preserve recipes did you make? And do you like them? Thanks, BW
BW, I made the recipe I linked to in the other post (the recipe with lemon slices and that you cook for 3 hours). I like them. I like the hint of lemon that I taste when I eat them. I haven’t tried them over yogurt yet though.
