O is for Opt-i-cat (AKA Simba). Opt-i-cat believes that it’s his God-given right to sniff everything that comes into the house. Multiple times. He believes that his place when Bob is here, is right between us. He believes that paper bags are for him (see evidence below).
Opt-i-cat believes that every time someone walks in the door or moves around the apartment, he will be fed. I’ve never seen a cat who can go 30 feet in 2.2 seconds like Simba. Simba’s also sneaky. He’s conned both Bob and myself into feeding him multiple times because one or the other of us didn’t see the other feed him.
But I love my Opt-i-cat. He watches over me when I’m sick and doesn’t leave my side. He’s ridiculously OCD and falls over for tummy rubs in the middle of the floor. And Simba loves to get his neck scritched while I’m brushing my hair in the morning. When I’m sitting on the couch doing morning pages, he’ll drape himself over my thigh so I can pet him every once in a while and feel his purr rumble into my leg.
All in all, not a bad life for a cat, or for the humans who make up his cat group.

Happy A-Zing!
What a sweetie! Life would be so dull without critters!
I currently have an orange tabby draped over my lap in the most uncomfortable-for-me-but-not-for-him position. He doesn’t care much for bags, but he loves boxes and will get in the way of anything that may be holding a person’s attention.
